Do not miss the last chance to get a grant for digital training for employees

Subsidies

By: Marie Sýkora Horňáková

Funding from the National Recovery Plan (NRP) is gradually coming to an end, and at the same time the amount of funds available from operational programs is decreasing, which is generally true across all programs. The summer months are therefore a good, and perhaps the last, opportunity to apply for support under Digi for Business. Use subsidies to finance further professional training for your employees in digital skills focused on the use of information technology and skills for Industry 4.0.

“Although the official deadline for receipt of applications is 15 October 2025, from a practical standpoint, I recommend submitting your application by the end of August at the latest, or mid-September at the latest. The reason is that the application must be approved by the Labor Office and the project must be implemented within the required time frame,” emphasizes Bohuslav Švehla, a subsidy expert at Grant Thornton.

According to current information, after the call closes, a new similar project will be launched under the Employment Plus Operational Program (OPZ+), similar in content to the POVEZ project, which supported IT education, the development of soft and managerial skills, and other language, technical, and professional education. More information could be available in late 2025 or early 2026. We are monitoring the situation and you can follow the latest information in the Grant Radar

What exactly can be financed from the grant?

IT skills

This activity can finance the development of digital IT skills, i.e. training that includes exclusively the acquisition of transferable digital competences and IT skills. An example is training that consists solely or substantially in acquiring the skills necessary to operate, create or manage software, computers and other IT equipment and computer networks.

Industry 4.0

This activity aims to develop digital skills in the field of Industry 4.0. It is therefore about education related to the concept of Industry 4.0, robotization and digitalization of work and the use of autonomous systems and artificial intelligence. This is usually training focused on the acquisition of specific or non-transferable digital competences, such as the ability to operate or program production machines directly in production (CNC machine operators) and training related to similar concepts (construction 4.0, agriculture 4.0 or services 4.0). This includes training in professions where digital skills are not necessarily the primary criteria. However, they are expected to have adequate digital competences of the staff to ensure the correct use and control of digital tools needed for the profession.
