On 23 April, the Chamber of Deputies approved in the first reading the proposal of the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs to introduce a single monthly employer report. This step paves the way for a significant simplification of the administrative burden that employers in the Czech Republic have been facing for a long time.
The basis of the proposed system is to consolidate the previously fragmented form obligations to several state institutions into one monthly electronic filing. From the beginning of next year, companies will probably only submit one report instead of dozens of different ones. At present, there are up to 25 different reports to five different authorities.
The single monthly employer report project represents a significant step towards the digitalisation of public administration. Not only does it bring time and cost savings for businesses, but the employees themselves will probably also perceive advantages – for example, in the form of faster data processing or easier control of the information that the state records about them.
With its approval at first reading, the proposal has successfully advanced to the next stage of the legislative process, where it will be discussed in committees. If all goes according to plan, the new system will probably be operational from January 2026. Further consideration by the Chamber of Deputies is possible after 24 May.
